Captured
Does it mean the captured Japanese soldiers were part of the British, French and Indian force that restore French control? — Instantnood 16:48, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Assessment
This article could really benefit from a map, and from a list of sources/references. LordAmeth 14:25, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Any leads on an improved map. Perhaps listing pre-colonial countries / states / provinces? --Thomas Chongruk | Talk 22:21, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Islam in Indochina
Re: Diff by Yellowmonkey.
The numbers do indeed add up to 136%. However, I must take issue with your contention that 'there is no way that 12% were Muslim'
see The Coming and Spread of Islam in Southeast Asia. The modern day Muslim population of Indonesia and Malaysia shows even more clearly the influence of Islam, which first spread through the region in the 11th Century baboy
[Demographics]. Anarchangel (talk) 06:58, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, Malaysia and Indonesia became Muslim, but Vietnam has never had a high amount of Muslims. Some Chams were Muslims, but they were mostly Hindu and the Chams were mostly extinct by 19th century. YellowMonkey (click here to choose Australia's next top model!) 07:03, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Significant Viewpoint
Hi, I am not sure the warning about significant viewpoints is still significant. I find nothing about a significant viewpoint debate in this page, and the article got a map and plenty of sources. Can we remove the warning? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.10.182.113 (talk) 05:26, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Capitol
The article states that Hanoi remained the capital of French Indo-China (even) after North-Vietnamese independence in 1945. --77.169.238.179 (talk) 13:11, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Laos
The article does not mention Laos. How is it territories in the end of French Indo-China? — HenryLi (Talk) 13:12, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- Laos was part of French Indochina until its formal dissolution. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 13:59, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
Italics
Why are various proper nouns throughout the article italicized seemingly at random? E.g., "Admiral Charles Rigault de Genouilly" is italicized, but "Napoleon III" isn't. 74.136.200.245 (talk) 22:15, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
