what other services have been redirected?
[edit]This sentence does not parse correctly:
... the Emergency Department was permanently closed and along with other services have been redirected to newly opened Fiona Stanley Hospital ...
Should it read"
... the Emergency Department was permanently closed and emergency, along with other services, have been redirected to the newly opened Fiona Stanley Hospital ...
What "other services" have been redirected? Mitch Ames (talk) 11:55, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
- all outpatient clinics, hyperbaric, and associated pathology/radiology type services as well as a number of wards which have been progressively moved. Gnangarra 16:05, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
What other campuses?
[edit]The article says "... provides 575 beds across all campuses", but there is no other mention in the article of multiple campuses. Where are the others? Mitch Ames (talk) 07:34, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Kaleeya Hospital was run administratively from Fremantle, but that closed with the move to Fiona Stanley Hospital. This text across a few directories suggests that it is also responsible for the Rottnest Island Nursing Post. (This also assumes the Alma Street Centre psychiatric facility is considered part of Fremantle Hospital proper.) The link I just cited had 516 beds including Alma Street but not including the others, and Kaleeya's bed numbers seem to change in every source: 66, 68 and 75, so that roughly accounts for the difference.
- I searched for a current cite about the status of Rottnest Island Nursing Post, but while there was a page on the Fremantle Hospital website that turns up as the first hit on Google, it is 404 so apparently was taken down recently. A search of the Fremantle Hospital website turns up no hits for "Rottnest Island". This page confirms my assumption that administration of Rottnest Island Nursing Post has been shifted to Fiona Stanley Hospital.
- I would address this by saying that it has one campus, noting the current bed count there, and that it was formerly responsible for Kaleeya and Rottnest Island (noting that one closed and the other was transferred to FSH control). The Drover's Wife (talk) 07:59, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

[edit]I have reorganised the article to reflect it the moves to Fiona Stanley hospital based solely on available source, I incorporated a couple of things raised on the page but these need sourcing. At least now its more ref;ected of its current activities Gnangarra 09:54, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
Hyperbaric hyperbole?
[edit]Does the statement that "The Hyperbaric Medicine Unit has provided support services for divers in all of Western Australia" need some qualification? Broome Hospital apparently has its own hyperbaric recompression unit, and has done for over a century, having been the site of "the first treatment of its kind in Australia". See also Diving chamber#History. Mitch Ames (talk) 07:03, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- its use was fairly notable for while with a number of incidents being covered in the media.. but yeah the its a bit of hyperbole though I wasnt aware of Broome though I'm not surprise given its commercial diving history. Gnangarra 07:40, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
