[edit]What can be said?
I do not actually know very much about Freida Riley with the exception of some of her work with the "Rocket Boys" If anyone knows where I can find more information on her life, that would be appreciated. I just think that it is sad that such an inspirational person died from a disease which has around a 85 percent survival rate in this day and age. More teachers should be like her, because they way things are with that situation , its as if some not all of them dont want to be teachers at all. And they don't care whether someone passes or fails, I have watched people around me drop out, people who shouldn't be doing bad but they are because no one will stop them or aknowledge what they are capable of .This is an age where possibility is endless and in the time Ms. Riley lived in there weren't as many options but still she wanted more for her students. If more people were like that the world would be a better place then it is, I garuntee it. Thats all I really have to say except that it's a shame though that all we have left of these inspirational figures are books, heresay, films, and in some cases memories, and that there are so few who we can look to today in the same light.
- This is an encyclopedia, not a compendium of hero stories, certainly not about people about whom we know only because they were played by Laura Dern in a somewhat fictionalized movie version of a memoir -- I have many people in my own life who are at least as worthy of a Wikipedia page. Not that I would want to see a page for them that resembles an obituary notice, as this one does. -- 71.102.145.35 07:59, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Do these 'worthy' people you know have a national award for educators named for them? If so, then write an article about them accordingly. If not, the STFD and STFU. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.194.195.195 (talk) 06:21, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
