Getting to this in the next few days. Cheers, Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 02:23, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I took a proper look at the article (earlier I didn't really read it) and realized it is a natural history article! Looks like a different one from you and something in my field :) This is going to be a great read. Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 08:15, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • No copyvio, duplink, dablink, broken external link issues. Sources and citations look decent. Good job!
  • Any link or a few words to explain "economic zoology"? May not be clear to a lay-reader. (in lead+main text)
Now linked to Economic entomology as the closest available. Let me know if this works as an approximation.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This one is tricky. Do your sources say economic zoology or economic entomology? If the first one, then we shouldn't link it to what is apparently a sub-field, but as he was an entomologist logically we should be right in saying economic entomology, but if your sources don't say so it would be OR. Plus I am not sure you can pick up a general description of economic zoology from elsewhere on the net, may be that too could be called OR but it is the most helpful option. What do you think? Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sources say economic zoology, and economic entomology is linked anyway so it wasn't a solution I was very happy with. But given that link is close by, I'd prefer to leave economic zoology unlinked.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Any link for tropical medicine? (lead+infobox+main text)
Links added (also for sanitation).  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. Put them in the infobox too. Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Added links.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think a link for "mosquito"(es) is a must in this article, though it is a common term, but it leads to an article where there is a scientific description and many other details for a reader who might be interested
Links added.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • a great interest in nature, particularly insects If you should have a link I think it is better to link "insects" instead of a common broader term "nature". That way a reader may get better insight into the scientific background to insects, not something you see often (just like for mosquitoes).
Revised link.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Shouldn't "Fauna of Sussex" be in italics as it is a work?
This is a direct quote and follows the original punctuation and formatting.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • was the first to describe numerous species In natural history articles we often link "describe" to scientific description. "Species" may also deserve a link but it is up to you.
Perfect, thanks. I looked for a suitable link for "describe" but nothing came up starting with "describe" so missed "scientific description".  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Theobold bequeathed his Aphididae collection Interesting. Do we have more details we can add about the collection?
I've checked the Natural History Museum website. There are many links to Theobald aphid specimens but the collection itself does not seem to be identified separately. I've added a quote from one of his obituaries.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, it works perfectly. Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe link The Times
Link added.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Are refs. 4 and 15 the sources for all bullets in Societies and honours? May be put them after the colon at the end of the previous para so that the points are not challenged with cn tags.
Yes, I agree, and that was where I put them in another article but was told by the reviewer to put them at the end of the list as otherwise all the following items looked as if they needed citations, so I'm very happy to follow your suggestion here. :)  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There are so many ways of doing things :) Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • In the wing image the caption is a fragment so it shouldn't end in a period, Culex Jepsoni should be properly written as Culex jepsoni, and Fiji may be linked
Revised.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just curious, on what basis have these specific works been chosen from his entire list of works? Isn't the list a bit too long for merely representative purposes?
The section started as an incomplete list but I've now added all the ones I can find from various sites. It's heading towards complete so I've deleted the notice at the start of the list. I agree it is probably a little long but I thought it worth including all I could find as one of his claims to notability is the large number of publications on mosquitoes, which the list demonstrates.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Great job. There is a big space between the heading and the list, due to a <br> tag, could we remove it? Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure how that got there, but fixed now.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also: I didn't get a notification that your comments had been posted so I may have added a few extra Notes to the article since you posted your review. I was trying to pin down his professorship and other roles a little more using information from the title pages of his books published throughout his career.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Had a look, all good. Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That should be it. Well-written and really interesting :) Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 01:15, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your excellent contributions to this article Sainsf. Please let me know if anything needs further attention. :)  ~ RLO1729💬 10:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just two more points that I have highlighted for your convenience. Cheers, Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 10:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
All done I think, thanks again.  ~ RLO1729💬 10:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ready for promotion :) Sainsf · (How ya doin'?) 11:20, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
