Adding Norah
[edit]Fred and Norah were an inseparable team in their research, and major honors were always given to the pair of them, not just to Fred. I see that someone went through the article earlier this year and stripped out most mentions of Norah - despite the fact that she was recognized by everyone as his full collaborator. So I am going to do something I contemplated and discussed doing several years ago: move the article to Fred and Norah Urquhart and restore her place in the team. - If Nora is important, she should not be relegated to mentions in her husband's article. It would be better to create a page for Norah and link the two. Rublamb (talk) 22:04, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- I completely agree that Norah should not be "relegated to mentions in her husband's article". As I just discovered, earlier this year you did just that - removed all info about her and made it "he did this", "he did that", with an occasional "with his wife". You even removed the fact that she also got the Order of Canada. OK, I can see why you did that - the article was in his name. But the fact is that they were a team. All of their research was joint, and all of their honors were given to both. So I made it into an article about the two of them. To try to make it into two separate articles would be cumbersome and totally duplicative. I have done this occasionally before, when two people were such an inseparable team that the article had to be about both. -- MelanieN (talk) 16:24, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
