Neutrality
[edit]This article is positive. That is obvious. Instead of labelling it with those boxy boxes, add something, do some research!! That's what I do when I don't like an article. And please if you label an an article, come here and tell us why. I'm not going to change it, its good and I have no problem with it. Alamar2000 03:13, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- I added the neutrality check box. Why didn't I just edit the article? Well, for one I had just spent quite a lot of time cleaning up the article and I wanted some feedback on my work. Two, I didn't have time to do any further editing. I fixed up this article as part of WikiProject Wikify, and since there are 7500 other articles in need of wikification, I felt my time and energy were better spent there. Three, the reason editors add maintainance tags to articles is that often the person who submitted the article doesn't realize that the article doesn't meet Wikipedia's standards. The tags are there to give them a heads-up. Ideally, the person who originally wrote the article should be the one to clean it up. Obviously that hardly ever happens, which is why we have such a massive backlog of articles that need cleanup or wikification or don't adhere to NPOV. RedRollerskate 14:15, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Second, are pictures from [1] free license since they are government (yes, I know they aren't federal like [2] which is public domain. I ask this because on the label on here it says picture is needed but there aren't that many great pictures of relatively obscure legislators on the internet. The State Assembly website provides great headshots which are PERFECT for Wikipedia. But there is no way to license them, everyone who tries gets the message saying more of an explanation is needed. Are there public domain pictures of legislators on the net and if there aren't why if I actually say there are none that Wikipedia still tells me I have to say that. I know this is a rant but looking at this page made me think of this. Alamar2000 03:13, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- I honestly don't know if the pictures on the state assembly's website are public domain. Go to the WP:PUMP and ask somebody there. I realize that it is difficult to get fair use pictures (I've had trouble with that myself). But the request for a photo is just that - a request. It would be nice if biography articles had a picture to go with them, but if they don't it's not the end of the world. RedRollerskate 14:19, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Problem
[edit]I tried to add reference citations but am having difficulty writing the proper code. I would be happy to provide the sources. Help? Dhaifley 19:08, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Try going to WP:FN to see how to do footnotes. You can also go to WP:CITET to get templates that will format your citations for you. Hope that helps. RedRollerskate 22:38, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. I'll try some of this next week. Dhaifley 16:24, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
