Deletion
[edit]This is one of several pages I have put up for deletion. All of these pages are by the same author (account now deleted), about professors from the same university. While I will assume good faith that it is not the school self-promoting, the fact remains that the only sources for notability on these articles are the professor's own publications and their personal pages on the university's website, which does not meet WP:NOTE. Therefore, I have proposed them for deletion, pending any genuine sources on their notability existing.2601:405:4400:9420:D086:AC36:FF13:3352 (talk) 23:44, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Gifford clearly is a reputable individual, but is he notable? I'm not so sure. If one can illustrate how his works can mark him as a notable living person, perhaps so, but that is not seen in the article. PerpetuityGrat (talk) 23:47, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- the books and other publications may be sufficient to show wp:prof; or even wp:author -- ck for reviews & cites to the work. WP:PROF is not GNG and does not require 3rd party refs for notability. If you cannot find reviews after a proper search, or if the citations are low as compared to others in the same field, then use AfD, & notify me. DGG ( talk ) 04:43, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
