External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Franz Stofel. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20150219202300/http://www.mazal.org/OtherTrials/BelsenTrial/T194.htm to http://www.mazal.org/OtherTrials/BelsenTrial/T194.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Name forms
[edit]German Wikipedia calls him "Xaver Stärfel", a recent publication of the German KZ Neuengamme Memorial calls him "Franz Stärfl". "Stofel" is the name form found in the National Archive, file WO 235/605 - which does not prove anything since British trial papers of the time are known to wreak havoc with the spelling of German names. Today's German white pages know only one name form: Stärfl. His birthplace seems to be Hainberg (Bavaria) (not: Heinberg). There are two probable places of that name. One is today part of Markt Arnstorf (county Rottal-Inn, Bavaria), the other is part of Steinkirchen (county Erding, Bavaria).--Kauko (talk) 09:44, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
I ordered his death certificate from the Hameln Registrar. The document says his name was "Franz Stärfl" and he was born in Hamburg. I'd appreciate if someone who knows more about the inner mechanisms of Wikipedia than I do could change the "Lemma" or encyclopedic page title to reflect this.--Kauko (talk) 15:55, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
