Talk:Frankfurt–Hahn Airport

Transportation
[edit]I wouldn't write that Hahn can easily be reached by car because there is actually no direct motorway (autobahn) connection to the airport and there used to be a lot of truck-traffic due to the (truck) toll on german motorways.
I don't agree with the above. The airport (flughafen) is only 35km from the motorway (autobahn). While there are a reasonable number of lorries (trucks) on this road (which I believe mostly to be local/airport (cargo) related) the journey from the motorway (autobahn) to the airport (flughafen) takes on average 25 minutes.
Tourist information
[edit]I've removed a paragraph that was concerned only with traveller information (prices, bus stop locations). This information is not encyclopaedic and easily available elsewhere. If you'd like to help out fellow travellers, consider putting this to wikitravel. Averell (talk) 14:40, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Restructure
[edit]I restructured the article a bit. It was still more like a tourist guide, with weak structure and the unnecessarily detailed information about the transportation. I removed the Hahn Airbase fighter image, since this article is about the civilian airport. Averell (talk) 08:11, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Is this a Frankfurt Airport?
[edit]Whats the status of this airport, why is it referred to as Frankfurt-Hahn Airport like London Luton Airport if its not.119.155.51.49 (talk) 20:36, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- Commercial reasons. Lautzenhausen international doesn't have the same ring to it.BabyNuke (talk) 08:56, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
- Could just be called Hahn Airport.116.71.29.64 (talk) 14:53, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
- I agree, and on roadsigns it is called simply "Hahn" as well. However Frankfurt Hahn is the official name so I guess we're stuck with it here, too.BabyNuke (talk) 16:17, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Antonov 225
[edit]Correction to the last paragraph. Author mentioned the largest item carried by air freight through the airport on AN Anotnov-225. This should be corrected to THE Anotnov-225. Only one exists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.232.42.33 (talk) 08:05, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
