Accused of attempted fight fixing

[edit]

Accused by former EliteXC matchmaker Jared Shaw of offering to replace his brother Ken against Kimbo Slice, and take a dive. Also accused by implication of fixing his controversial fight with Cung Le.

Pancrase fights in the MMA record ??

[edit]

Pancrase isn't a real MMA, it's as fake as a pornstars tits ! This page ruins Frank Shamrocks real pro record of 3 defeats by including all the fake Pancrase matches ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.30.146.233 (talk) 18:44, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The "Get his shinebox" line.

[edit]

This line in the Return To Fighting section looks suspect to me: If Shamrock does not back out again, "The New York Bad Ass" is scheduled to promptly send Shamrock to get his shinebox. TheMattMan 22:08, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Pure trash talk. I'm taking it out. DestradoZero 04:31, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's well known to people who have followed pancrase since it's main inception in the early 90's that most of the fights were worked, regardless of Bas Rutten's claims. I do not know if any of Bas's fights were worked, but the majority of the pancrase fights (especially any fight that involved Funaki) were works. Many fighters have come forward today and have touched upon this, particularly members of the so-called Lion's Den.

Baroni fight

[edit]

Of course rear naked choke is a submission, but in instances when a fighter does not tap and goes unconscious it is usually ruled a TKO. Specifically, the Baroni vs. Shamrock fight was ruled a TKO due to rear naked choke because Phil did not tap and went unconscious. Thesaddestday 04:59, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How is that a TKO though? He was unconscious, which if from a strike falls under KO. A TKO in MMA is when a fighter cannot intelligently defend himself or is not fighting back. If, say, the Referee called the fight prior to Phil Baroni being choked unconscious, it would clearly be a TKO, but since he did go unconscious, I think it's deffinitly a KO. Combat52 July 10, 2007

Well there's no "knocking" involved. 75.5.100.86 (talk) 02:28, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This probably isn't relevant at all 2 1/2 years later since someone should've told you by now, but it's called a technical submission.--Jahahn (talk) 04:27, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Brother or Step-Brother?

[edit]

It seems that the author(s) continue to mesh the words. They are either brothers or step-brothers. MPA 00:27, 8 June 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by MPA (talkcontribs)

LOL

[edit]

Changed "retired Irish-American mixed martial arts fighter" to retired mixed martial arts fighter. Frank Shamrock isn't Irish American. Shamrock is his adopted name. He's multiethnic-predominantly Mexican American and Native American (Apache). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.176.233.118 (talk) 06:19, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
