Where is the photo of Frank?

Photo (2)

[edit]
The Swedish Wikipedia article on Frank Morris has some photographs.
I think there is another photograph taken when he was about 14, but I can't easily find it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.30.71.244 (talk) 16:06, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A Google search on "Frank Morris Alcatraz", followed by "Images", will produce five photos, taken on three days. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.27.63.85 (talk) 10:19, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Criminal record

[edit]

Does anybody have any information as to Morris' criminal record? We know him from the movie and that seems to be about it.

The FBI file shows numerous crimes.

"Numerous crimes" is just as vague as "ranging from possession of narcotics to armed robbery." The "first crime at the age of 13" Morris was "convicted" of appears to be juvenile delinquency. I have updated the page to be less POV, using the associate warden's record card available on alcatrazhistory.com. 70.171.204.39 (talk) 00:07, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:EscapefromAlcatrazEastwood.jpg

[edit]

Image:EscapefromAlcatrazEastwood.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Poor wording

[edit]

I don't like the line, "Morris was believed to be of very superior intelligence, having an IQ of 133 according to most historians." "very superior"? Very superior to what? And while 133 is definitely an impressive IQ, the scale goes a bit higher. I think better wording would be "Morris was believed to be very intelligent..." Any thoughts? Ynot4tony2 (talk) 13:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This may be a technical term, but the wikipedia article on IQ does not contain the labels associated with some IQ scales (superior, very superior, genius, supra-genius, etc.), so I'm not sure. In any event, the Intelligence Quotient system is relative and normalized. Over 95% of the population falls between 80 and 120 on the IQ scale. In fact, according to the wikipedia article on IQ, an IQ of 133 should put Morris higher than 99.5% of the population. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.171.204.39 (talk) 23:52, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Note

[edit]

There is a Facebook page for Frank. The photo seems to have been coloured artificially. Obviously, it is not by Morris himself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siberian Patriot (talkcontribs) 17:16, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth

[edit]

The date of birth of Morris is also given as 1922. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.154.23.216 (talk) 12:23, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Four different dates are given for Morris. They range from 1922 to 1926. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.154.23.216 (talk) 12:32, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Survived?

[edit]

I suspect that claim is vandalism. If he was known to have survived, it seems like there'd be a lot of references for that. Related articles make no mention of him being found alive... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.5.137.148 (talk) 08:01, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
