Another Frank McMahon
[edit]This article is about the author who wrote Borstal Boy. From the very first edit, it has always referred to the subject as being best known for writing that play. There are exactly five articles (other than a disambiguation page) which link to this article, and all five of them refer to the author of Borstal Boy.
Someone has been trying to usurp this article, replacing it with the simple statement that the subject "is an Australian poet". This user claims:
- Frank McMahon born South Australia not the same Frank McMahon who wrote "Borstal Boy"
According to WP:BLP:
- ...any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion.
So I have reversed the usurpation and removed the questionable material (birth date and place, and a reference which apparently applies to the poet).
Anyone wanting to write a separate article about the poet is certainly welcome to do so (assuming it is, indeed, a different person), but this article should continue to be about the writer of Borstal Boy. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 08:45, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
