Name

I'm unsure if this would be suitable but given his second name is a Czech one, it might be interesting to note (although perhaps not) that the translation into English is literally "Raspberry". Astro Turf

I've added Astro Turf to "Further Reading". It is a recent history of the JPL with a long section on Malina's life after the JPL. The author, MG Lord, had access to Malina's FBI file. Since 9/11, no other scholar has been allowed to see this file.

In the interests of full disclosure, I know MG personally: we were in the same section of a German class in college.

I noticed in an article about Tsien, Malina was a member of "unit 122" in the 1930s, an association of communist professors. Tsien's association with Malina and Frank Oppenheimer and other people in that group was used against him when he was deported. DonPMitchell (talk) 03:35, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
