An animal lover, Egerton kept partridges and pigeons with clipped wings in his garden, allowing him to shoot them despite failing eyesight.

Am I the only one who finds "an animal lover" and "allowing him to shoot them" to be contradictory?

Even if both are true, they certainly don't fit together like that...and I wonder if one or the other was included by some bitter anti-hunting person as sarcastic commentary. Kaz 02:01, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
