POV
[edit]- "Atterbury took leave of those whom he loved with a dignity and tenderness worthy of a better man, to the last protesting his innocence with a singular disingenuousness."
I think the language here is less than objective, to say the least.Fearwig 03:11, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Never mind, it's Britannica. My mistake. Fearwig 03:12, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- We should still emend it if it's not in a direct quote format, though. — LlywelynII 02:11, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
- Also agree, the prose in the sections Leadership of High Church Party, Jacobitism, Arrest and Imprisonment could be more objectively presented, and looks suspiciously 'lifted' verbatim from the source cited. I have moderated one statement with the phrase "allegedly" concerning his description of the Hanoverian presence in Britain.Cloptonson (talk) 08:22, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Atterbury, Francis from the 9th edition of the Britannica has more, if the 11th didn't just copy it. (In which case, we should be citing it instead of the 1911 volume.) — LlywelynII 02:11, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
