Franklin is not English variant of Francis

[edit]

Franklin is not the English variant of Francis. The English variant of Francis is Francis. A franklin was an Middle Ages landholder in England. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.89.75.248 (talk) 06:50, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Listing people named "Frances"

[edit]

We have no article on Frances (given name); apparently, all the information is supposed to be found in this article, because Frances is the feminine form of Francis. I'm not sure that's the best approach, but to be consistent, this article should include a list of people named Frances. I'll begin compiling it with the one that I was looking for (Frances FitzGerald (journalist)) but there are many others. JamesMLane t c 10:29, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Related Names"

[edit]

The variant names under this heading are more than "related names". The word related implies difference which is misleading, they are not different but linguistic variations of the same. A more accurate term would be Cognate. 209.93.146.80 (talk) 10:26, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
