Notability
[edit]I think he meets the requirement if he was a member of the Maltese Parliament for three years. There may not be much about him yet, but I think he meets the requirement. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 15:14, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Ser Amantio di Nicolao. May I suggest that the article be moved to the creator's user space (User:Jmasini) until they have sourced information and expanded the article? I had a look, but most references are to the Rev Dr Joseph Bezzina's book about him (but by title only, not quoting it or anything), or to the street named after him! There may be other references that I missed, but those were the main references (and I don't have access to a copy of Bezzina's book - perhaps someone with that can add to the article?) If some sources of information were available, I'd have no problems with this being in main space, but... hang on, I've had an idea... I'll be back in a few mins after I look up something -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 15:28, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- DEBATES OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES (Report and Revised), NINTH PARLIAMENT, Sitting No. 214, Friday, 17 December 1999 seems to be saying that he failed to form a Parliament:
- Fil-ħajja politika Maltija mhux ta' min jonqos milli jsemmi nies oħrajn li taw is-sehem tagħhom li żviluppaw u ġibdu warajhom sezzjoni tal-poplu imma xorta waħda ma rnexxielhomx jifformaw gvern. Uħud minn dawn kienu Mons Ignazio Panzavecchia, William Savona, Gerald Strickland, Prof Galea, Pierre Frendo, Mikiel Caruana, Henry Jones, Francesco Masini, Prof Hyzler, Mabel Strickland, Herbert Ganado, Toni Pellegrini, George Ransley u Wenzu Mintoff. Nixtieq insemmi wkoll lin-nisa li onoraw dan il-parlament u ħadu sehem attiv fil-politika. Dawn kienu Agatha Barbara, Cecilia de Trafford, Fanny Attard Bezzina, Evelyn Bonaci, Anne Aguis Ferrante, Carmen Sant, Maria Camilleri, Giovanna Debono, Dolores Cristina, Helen D'Amato u Helena Dalli li l-aħħar erbgħa għadhom iservu f'dan il-parlament.
- (Translated by Google Translate) Maltese political life not of failure to mention other people who have their share and attracted developed section of the people behind but still failed to form a government. Some of these were Msgr Ignazio Panzavecchia, William Savona, Gerald Strickland, Prof Galea, Pierre Frendo, Michael Caruana, Henry Jones, Francesco Masini, Prof. Hyzler, Mabel Strickland, Herbert Ganado, Toni Pellegrini, Garth Nixon and George Ransley. I should also mention women who have honored this parliament and took active part in politics. These were Agatha Barbara, Cecilia de Trafford, Fanny Attard Bezzina, Evelyn Bonaci, Anne Agius Ferrante, Carmen Sant, Maria Camilleri, Giovanna Debono, Dolores Cristina, Helen D'Amato and Helena Dalli the last four still serve this parliament.
- OK, I don't speak Maltese, and so can't type Maltese into Google to look for references in Maltese, but I didn't find any positive references to him using English phrases. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 15:34, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Another reference Malta's parliament: an official history Godfrey A. Pirotta - Political Science - 2006 (Page 105) says Another power which the Francesco Masini Governor enjoyed under the 1921 Constitution, that is, of transmitting Bills to the Legislative Assembly for its consideration was also removed. There are also references to him in a German-Language book Gozo: Geschichten und Geschichte einer liebenswerten Insel By Helmut Frick. I am therefore going to remove the SD nomination, as I think he is more notable than I original thought based on a quick search. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 15:42, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
