Succession

[edit]

I find the succession box at the bottom of particularly bad taste. Hektor 06:45, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, it's awful. I'm sure most people who simply come here to view the articles and are not editors would be similarly offended by it. I don't know if anyone's proposed to delete it yet, but I have no doubt it would be kept. I mean.. if the people here are ghoulish enough to put it in, why would they agree to take it out? Common sense means nothing to them. I have to stop coming to this site so often... 172.188.43.53

Last name

[edit]

Was there any particular reason why he used the name Cevert instead of Goldenberg?

I'm not sure, but I think the family dropped the name Goldenberg after the war, when Francois was very small. Bretonbanquet 17:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Other way round. His dad was both Jewish and in the Resistance, so advertising to a city stuffed with Nazis the fact that he was still around to perform his gentlemanly duties with FC's mother wasn't a great idea. Fleshed this out on the main page. Pyrope 20:49, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance of references to Helmuth Koinigg crash

[edit]

This is just unnecessary and irrelevant. We don't need to read it twice how Koinigg died and it reflects badly on an article which is supposed to be about another driver. Just say he was killed a year later and move on. If anyone wants to read about Koinigg, there are links in the article and I propose the irrelevant parts be deleted since they provide no supporting information on Cevert. If anyone wants to read about the history of the Watkins Glen circuit and how and why it was modified, they can use the relevant links in the article. Wiki authors need to show a level of self-control if the site is to maintain any credibility. If anyone can come up with a good reason why these passages should not be removed, please speak up. I'll give it two weeks, then they're gone. Flanker235 (talk) 06:06, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

1969 German Grand Prix

[edit]

Cevert entered the 1969 German Grand Prix in an F2 car, and therefore it doesn't count as an F1 result, yet in the table of his results, it is present and not marked as an F2-only result. Should this not be marked in some way, or shown in a separate table? Egcrossan (talk) 16:16, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
