On the scope of this article
[edit]As Framework has only released one product so far (the laptop), I am wondering if this article should be moved and be changed to be primarily about the laptop instead. I think this might be a better idea as the laptop itself has received much more significant coverage than the company (nearly all of the sources so far are laptop reviews), and I don't think having an article on both is a good idea as a lot of information will be repeated. Any thoughts?

- For most other situations I'd agree, but considering that the hardware's point is to be upgradable and the company will also open up a marketplace for the components which will become probably their main source of business, I think it'd be the wrong call - I'd even argue that the "Framework Laptop" is deliberately named like that because it's treated by the company more as a collection of parts rather than an actual product. // Gargaj (talk) 13:11, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- Alright, fair enough. I guess we should see if the marketplace gets coverage as well afterwards (I did see one article mentioning the community in passing). eviolite (talk) 00:28, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Gargaj, I've started thinking about working on the article again and have changed my mind a bit; the marketplace still doesn't exist yet and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball; all current SIGCOV is purely about the product itself (reviews, etc) with mere mentions of the company's values and such. I think just based on the material available it makes more sense to have the majority of the article be about the laptop and only a bit on the company or community, as that tracks with how the coverage works. Also, even if the laptop is meant to be treated as a collection of parts, the RSes are all treating it as a laptop (comparing it to other non-modular laptops, etc) because for all intents and purposes it is, but just in a way that's more similar to older laptops with upgradability etc. Like I don't even know if the company itself would pass GNG as it's all mentions within articles primarily regarding the laptop. eviolite (talk) 23:12, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

fix extra line in table
[edit]I'm trying to fix the extra line in the framework 16 specifications table, but everything I do seems to add a new column to the table, what am I doing wrong?
here are links to my edits (in both cases the preview looked fine before publishing)

Plagiarism?
[edit]This is copied verbatim/direct from the source:

- Maybe I added the sentence in the past, thinking about using the original sentence was accurate to describe the project. I was not aware that this is the case of the plagiarism. Thank you for fixing my mistake. Junaruga (talk) 10:12, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
Deleted contents by restoring revision 1225028792
[edit]Hello AquilaFasciata. Thanks for your contributions. I see that you restored into the revision 1225028792 on the following change. And some contents including the texts written by me was removed too. What was the reason that you removed the contents? I did read your short comment "It wasn't OR, it had citations" on the change. But I couldn't understand the reason. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Framework_Computer&diff=1226265005&oldid=1226233061 Junaruga (talk) 17:14, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
More precise USB specs
[edit]USB 3.2 basically means nothing, it could be Gen 1 (5 Gb/s), Gen 2 (10), Gen 2x2 (20), it would be great if someone could add which version of 3.2 it is! Esteban Outeiral Dias (talk) 14:55, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
