This was posted by someone in the main page by mistake, presumably.

I disagree with the fact that the RAF houses at Fradley were sold to the council in 1959 as I lived there from 1963-66 when my father served in the RAF at Stafford and we lived in Fradley. He communited to Stafford daily for work. YES a lot of the text above is incorrect--Fradley never had concrete runways and was never built to have grass runways. It started life with the traditional tarmac RAF 6 runway layout.

My mother and father met there during the war and in 1977 I had the privllege of taking my mother and siter back there to the control tower(were you could still see the wartime paper notices). My mother died soon afterwards.

I will be dedicating a web page to Fradley on my site www.madeinbirmingham.org shortly.

PLEASE when posting on websites research before you post--it is insulting to the memories of those who have gone to leave erroneous comments

Australian soldiers

[edit]

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties about 41000 Australians were killed in WW2. I'm sure they're not all buried at Fradley. If there is a signicant number of graves here, or a memorial, then perhaps the article should be reworded. 132.244.246.25 (talk) 12:51, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
