Identity of the woman who inspired the song
[edit]In this article, it is stated that the song might be about Kathy Etchingham, Jimis girlfriend from 1966-1969. I'll add a sentence to the article. Saemikneu (talk) 13:17, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
- But in this article (The Guardian) and this one (Los Angeles Times) the song is described as being about Lithofayne Pridgon (1940–2021), more likely than Kathy Etchingham. O'Dea (talk) 21:26, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
cover versions
[edit]where's the usual list of cover versions? just heard one on KALX, prompting me to recall the cure taking a run at it, early 80s, as a b-side iirc. the one I just heard was a live rendering by 'odd job' featuring shelley hirsch.
