Something wrong with "Fourneau" = "Suramine"
[edit]This redirection by a robot is a nonsense. Fourneau is the name of the discoverer of Fourneau 309, that is to say of the rediscoverer of suramin. It would not be enough to redirect the page Fourneau to Fourneau 309. It is necessary to erase this redirection page Fourneau or to replace its redirection with a disambiguation text, and to create another redirection page Fourneau 309 to Suramine. I am not able to do so in English. Thank you for your help. Regards. --Thierry (talk) 08:10, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, all that the bot did was create this page as a redirect, not convert an existing biographical page about Dr. Fourneau into the redirect. As such, it doesn't do much harm. One very good solution might be to simply change the redirect page into a biographical page, which any editor may do, simply by editing the page. One would need some sourcing for what the person did, to establish notability, and I'm not sufficiently interested in the subject to do that myself. Alternatively, you could bring it up for discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion. In the mean time, I'll create a redirect from Fourneau 309 to Suramin. --Tryptofish (talk) 21:46, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- Realizing now that we have a bio page of another person named Fourneau, I've change this redirect to go to Jean-Claude Fourneau. That, together with the 309 redirect, should solve all the problems that I can see. --Tryptofish (talk) 19:02, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Now a dab
[edit]With the creation of Ernest Fourneau, I have now expanded this page from a redirect to a short disambiguation. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:46, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
