Media review (though there is none)
[edit]- A music sample can be beneficial to the reader's understanding. If you can upload or ask someone to upload one, it should be 16 second long. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:09, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Inspiration, production and songwriting controversy
[edit]- While on tour for the Selena Live! Tour, --> Very choppy prose
- Before recording sessions took place at Selena's father and manager Abraham Quintanilla Jr.'s recording studio Q-Productions, Quintanilla III had asked Selena if she wanted to record the song, she then supported the project. --> This sentence is a bit long in the sense that it illustrates many steps. You can cut it don into two sentences.
- How would you suppose I end the first period? I tried but it didn't seem right to me. Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:56, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Lol. You just need to make two sentences instead of one. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:11, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Music, theme and lyrics
[edit]- Link octave to where appropriate.
- I can't find any other link that is appropriate. Do you have an alternative one I don't know about? Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:56, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, simply octave. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:04, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Lori Beth Rodriguez wrote in her book Mapping Tejana epistemologies: Contemporary (re)constructions of Tejana noted that "Fotos y recuerdos" --> Cut one of the verbs
- If its the book, that's how it is spelled. Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:56, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- I don't have a problem with the spelling. ?You are using verbs in the wrong place. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:04, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Unlink sample as you have to link it in its first occurrence
- while also stating that --> ,adding that
- The song tells --> The song or the lyrics?
- her beloved each night before falling asleep." --> Why do I see that end quote?
- Because its part of the quote. Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:56, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Where does it start? Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:04, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- "Such a romantic view on the part of a woman for a man is echoed in Borderlands songs like "Fotos y recuerdos," sung by Selena of Corpus Christi. The song tells how a lonely woman kisses the photo of her beloved each night before falling asleep." Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 00:05, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Young rockers could identify with ["Fotos y recuerdos",] which took the melody of the New Wave act [the Pretenders]". --> Read WP:LQ and apply it here and everywhere else where necessary.
- Link violins in the second paragraph
- Link chorus to where appropriate
- Link pop to where appropriate
Release and chart performance, Critical reception
[edit]- Create a section called Released and reception, then all this information. No need for such short individual sections.

- I am unable to do this for the Hot Single Sales and the Latin 50 as there has not, yet, been one provided.
- Note: Do you remember how you failed this article for only a few issues that could have easily been handled? Frankly, it was unfair. I can fail "Fotos Y Recuerdos" right now based solely on that huge amount of choppy prose it contains. But I won't because I believe that these issues can be dealt with. Remember that you have to give nominators the chance to apply the corrections and not/NEVER fail an article straightaway (unless it is really horrible). This is a friendly advice. :D Jivesh1205 (Talk) 10:48, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- The ol' days lolz. Yes I do remember, back then I was still on training and didn't know a lot of information that I do now :D Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:56, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- I really hope you don't repeat that. :) Jivesh1205 (Talk) 06:06, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
