Excessive red-linking removed

[edit]

I have de-linked most of the red links. Those links have been red for almost 2½ years, suggesting that there is no reasonable prospect that articles will be written about them. Marc Shepherd 22:37, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I restored the ferries and rail companies and lines, which are valid topics for articles. --NE2 00:24, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When years go by and no article is created, how valid are they? Marc Shepherd 00:30, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There is no deadline. --NE2 00:59, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But, by the same token, when an article has a significant number of redlinks, and they've been there for years with no articles being created, it's a strong indication that they will never be. Marc Shepherd 02:17, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Or that nobody's gotten around to it. --NE2 03:02, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just in the event it's not as obvious, would I be wrong in redirecting the 42nd Street and Grand Street Ferry Line redlink to this article? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 06:45, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
