Splitting into 'Fothairt' and 'Fortúatha'/'Forthuath'
[edit]This article conflates the Fothairt and the Fortúatha=Fortuatha=Forthuatha, which are seperate categories in early medieval Ireland. The Fothairt are (supposedly) an ethnic/tribal group, while a "fortúath" ('over-tribe') is a term for a tribe in a position of overlordship. I'll try and sort this out myself in due course but any input is appreciated. Basically, a seperate page will need to be created for the Fothairt and the automatic redirect removed (*I don't know how to do the latter, at present*). - I've taken the file and done the basic split, in my User:Marcas.oduinn/sandbox. I'm about to take them to the Irish wiki, and translate them. If anyone would like to review them for the English wiki, please do. We can then populate both pages, but noting that the current Fortuatha is best described as Middle Irish Marcas.oduinn (talk) 16:26, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I've completed the split into Fothairt and Fortúatha (Old Irish with accent). I've also created the wikidata item for Fortúatha. Marcas.oduinn (talk) 10:11, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
