Page title
[edit]A quick look at the official website will show that the championship is referred to by more than one name. Among them are:
- Formula 3 Sulamericana – see the copyright notice at bottom of http://www.f3sudam.com.br/
- Fórmula 3 Sul-americana, F3 Sul-americana and Fórmula 3 Sul-Americana – see the history and contact pages
- Formula 3 Sudamericana – see the 'Regulamentos' file (PDF) available at the official website
The rules/regulations/bylaws document is the only official document which I found that consistently uses one name: Formula 3 Sudamericana. Examples include:
- "Los campeonatos sudamericanos de Formula 3, Formula 3 Sudamericana y CODASUR ...", which I translated (roughly) to "The South American Formula 3 championships, Formula 3 Sudamericana and CODASUR ...".
- "CODASUR y Formula 3 Sudamericana establecerán para este año ...", which I translated (roughly) to "CODASUR and Formula 3 Sudamericana establish for this year ..."
I am not a speaker of Portuguese and, therefore, was unable to fully understand the document or to become certain of the name of the competition. One thing, however, is certain: the championship's name neither officially nor unofficially includes the English word 'Three' in place of the number '3'. Therefore, I have moved this article from Formula Three Sudamericana to Formula 3 Sudamericana. -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:53, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- One issue seems to be clearer: Formula 3 Sudamericana is the name in Spanish, whereas Fórmula 3 Sul-americana is the Portuguese-language name. -- Black Falcon (talk) 03:00, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
