The map was originally drawn September 1972. "State Maintained Roads" were changed in January 1974. A1A, 25 and 817 were changed in July 1978. 819, 828, 850, 860, 913, 916, 917 and 968 were changed in January 1980.

An undated Trakker Dade County kep map adds the following:

  • 856 (current 856)
  • 915 (current 973)
  • 919 (current 969)
  • 929 (current 909)
  • 930 (current 976)
  • 933 (current 915)
  • 936 (current 990)
  • 944 (current 944)
  • 945 (current 907)
  • 948 (current 924)
  • 950 (current 932) - typo for 850??
  • 954 (current 968)
  • 955 (current 823)
  • 959 (current 959)
  • 974 (current 994)
  • 989 (current 989)
  • 997 (current 997 and 9336!)

Maybe there were two stages to the renumbering?

  • There were clearly a few modifications and additions in 1980, but the bulk of the changes occurred in 1983, according to the now-defunct southfloridaroads.com (fortunately, the site's been archived). Several changes have occurred since then, most notably the trimming of several State Roads in Dade (present Miami-Dade) County and the addition of the Lehman Causeway (SR 936) and the opening of the Gratigny Parkway (SR 924).
