Request for clarification

I've tagged "the effect of the improvement is that the Callaway Diablo Octane drivers average about 8 yards (7 m) greater distance than their predecessor Diablo Edge drivers and the Sesto Elemento" with ^{[clarification needed]} because it doesn't make any sense. What is the 8 yard improvement about in? I presume it is something to do with how far they can drive in a set amount of time, but this must be explained.
