Describing platforms at Forest Glen and Wheaton accurately, while also briefly
[edit]One of these days we're going to figure it out. Forest Glen technically has a center platform, since it is in between the tracks rather than on the outside, but it is less-than-descriptive for the situation. To me, "separate platforms" doesn't quite work, since the first thing to come into my mind was side platforms. Additionally, they're not entirely separate. The trick is determining how to describe the unique station design in only a few words. And therein lies the rub. Any ideas? SchuminWeb (Talk) 09:59, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- "Connected tunnels"? --Golbez 10:03, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Each platform is housed within its own tunnel. The two tunnels are connected by a central elevator shaft. -- Toytoy (talk) 14:16, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- You are absolutely correct. The trick is how to describe it succinctly. SchuminWeb (Talk) 14:57, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
The article side platform starts "A side platform is a platform positioned to the side of a pair of tracks". Forest Glen definitely doesn't meet this definition because the platforms aren't to the side of the tracks; each platform is to the side of one, but the platforms are between the pair of tracks, not the other way around.47.139.42.78 (talk) 22:34, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
