Section removed
[edit]I moved the section 'Pakistan and Bangladesh', which appeared to be a personal essay by User:82.0.149.86.
It started:
- "In the context of Islam's journey in the sub-continent a few words about the common factors between Pakistan and Bangladesh would not be out of place here. We cannot overlook the fact that it were the proud people of Pakistan and Bangladesh that welcomed the preachers of Islam and embraced its teachings spontaneously and earnestly in overwhelming numbers, while its success in other parts of the sub-continent was limited."
And continued much in the same vein, based around the point of view that Pakistan and Bangladesh are natural allies. This may or may not be true: it's irrelevant. This was not suitable material for Wikipedia. We might expand the existing bilateral relations section with information about this political movement and the effect it has on the current relations with Pakistan. Review
[edit]I think this whole article is in need of a review. The massive amount of subsections is unnecessary, given that most of them could be lumped together rather than having their own tiny section (see German relations...). The tone of the India and Pakistand sections is a bit off, too. 89.100.18.51 (talk) 09:55, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Libyan relation
[edit]The section says that Lib-Ban relation was non-existent because, among other reasons, Lib gave asylum to Mujib's killers. Yet, the Lib-Ban relation was established in Jan 8, 1975, according to the section. Mujib was assassinated on Aug 15, 1971. How can granting asylum to Mujib's killers be a reason for the no-relation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ratibgreat (talk • contribs) 04:11, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Merger proposal
[edit]I propose to merge Foreign policy of Bangladesh into Foreign relations of Bangladesh. I think it would be appropriate to merge this page as there is very little information on it and it can easily be covered on the target page.—AMomen88 (talk) 04:47, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- Don't merge here – a better merge target for the content would be Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Bangladesh). --Worldbruce (talk) 18:25, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
- @AMomen88 I strictly oppose the merge proposal. Listen, Even India has two separate articles, and not just India, Any country you name it. Their foreign relations and foreign policy are described in brief, and merging would only lengthened the article. Better abandon this proposal. Utkarsh555 03:24, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Utkarsh555 Thank you for your insight. I have just checked, no such article exists entitled Foreign policy of India (the article is a redirect to Foreign relations of India). The "foreign policy of India" is covered by the article Foreign relations of India which is the equivalent to what I am proposing to merge this article with. Upon conducting research I have ascertained that your assumption that "any country" has a similar article is also incorrect. This article is very short and merging would not present any major problems in regards to brevity. Kind regardsAMomen88 (talk) 17:30, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
- @AMomen88 Ok well. looks like you got a point here. Well yes, if it is in within the Wikipedia standards, then you may. thanks, and have a nice day! Utkarsh555 03:06, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
- Given the consensus to follow the structure used in other similar cases, Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 09:37, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
