This article is incorrectly named. It is first and foremost a PSA engine. Its only reference clearly states: While the first two phases of the project were led by PSA Peugeot Citroën, Phase 3 was led by Ford Motor Company. The first two phases are the 1.4 and 1.6 litre engines. Phase 3 is the V6 engine. Phase 4 is leaded by Ford for the LCV 2.2, while the 2.2-litre destined to cars is led by PSA. 128.178.17.157 (talk) 16:26, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Not all DLD-416 have a variable geometry turbocharger, and not all are equipped with Diesel particulate filters, thus not all are Euro 5 compliant. For the Ford versions of the engine, only the 109 PS (108 hp/80 kW) version has a variable geometry turbocharger and a diesel particulate filter. It is highly probable that the 2010 version on the Fiesta also has a DPF. Reference 3, regarding low saps
[edit]I'm sorry, but reference 3, regarding low saps oil for the DLD-416, is complete nonsense. If you actually follow the link, you end up on a forum (of all places). There is an official bit, from Citroen, but it just reiterates the importance of timely and correct oil change procedures. It does not mention saps at all. Then there is a section about, again, timely oil changes from a shop in Africa. But once again, nothing on saps. And then finally, you get the first mention of saps: 'C6 Dave wrote ...
It's possible that all the carbon build up is due to poor oil quality.
The HDi's require a ' Low Saps' oil'.
'C6 Dave wrote ... It's possible' kind of says it all. It is one post, from one person. Just one opinion.
Forums and the information therein, do not constitute facts, no matter how many posts a poster has or how highly regarded the poster is.
Facts are required, official tech bulletins from manufacturers. Remove the reference immediately. Vince (talk) 16:05, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
- I contacted Castrol, and they too confirm a low saps oil is not required. I will remove the reference myself, as no-one has responded to my original suggestion several months ago. Vince (talk) 13:17, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
