This article is a visual nightmare! Seeing as its a pretty famous song, I'm adding the cleanup tag :D Oggleboppiter 12:58, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

On Origins

Thanks to whoever contributed this section. It's things like this that make WP a valuable resource.

Article tile

Why was this moved to For What It's Worth (Stephen Stills song)? It should be back under For What It's Wrth (Buffalo Sprigfield song). On Wikipedia, the standard is that songs go under the artist who recorded the song, not the writer of the song. I will move this back if no ojections are raised. KitHutch (talk) 21:47, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree - listing this as a Springfields song would avoid confusion. Addionne (talk) 12:28, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Redirect

I added a redirect to this page for "Stop children what's that sound", as many people will search for that as the main lyric of the song Chaosandwalls (talk) 14:33, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

They will? OK...

Songwriting Credit

On the CSNY album Deja Vu Live, the songwriting credit is given to Stephen Stills and Richie Furay. Does anyone know anything about this?Bob Caldwell CSL (talk) 19:24, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Maybe, Furay was the one who played the song on the episode. 71.129.63.227 (talk) 03:47, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

I got the answer. Richie said on his Facebook page that he had nothing to do with writing the song. It was an error on the credits of the album. Bob Caldwell CSL (talk) 17:49, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Radio program

I'm looking for the online radio program/podcast on left-wing politics that uses this as its signature tune. Can anyone help me? I'm trying to find an episode form January, but I no longer remember the title, and the only place I posted it was Facebook, where my account was unjustly disabled. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 22:15, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Cher's version

Does Cher's cover of this song warrant even a mention, much less its own section? Her single failed to chart. --Bob Caldwell CSL (talk) 16:58, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

There's Something Happening Here

My recent edit to add this phrase as a memorable lyric was reverted by Bob_Caldwell_CSL for lack of citations. Since Something's Happening Here already redirects to this page, I thought that it at least merited an actual mention within the article. However, I'm not sure what sort of citation might be suitable for this sort of 'Explaining-The-Redirect' situation, other than various confoundings of the two phrases, such as here. For that matter, Stop, children, what's that sound? - the other redirected phrase that's mentioned in this context - equally lacks any citation, which probably should also be addressed. Any thoughts? jxm (talk) 00:41, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

Well, as an old guy who has been around during the song's existence, I can say that the song has often been referred to as "Stop, Children What's that Sound." I don't have a citation for it, but I didn't create the original text either. I have never heard the song referred to by its opening line. If a lot of people agree with you because they have, restore it. If you can't get support, then a citation would be necessary. At least that's the way I look at it.Bob Caldwell CSL (talk) 14:01, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
