Very badly written

It reads like a hastily cobbled together first year essay, with hyperbole, repetition, and jargon throughout. I tried to fix the intro but it need loads more work. Complete rewrite probably.--Weasel tango (talk) 10:29, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

This article was a student project. Not to say that students can't write decently, but their stuff tends to be crap. This article is crappy. I edited it a little. I will need to come back to it and edit it some more to get it even semi-decent. Halo Jerk1 (talk) 10:57, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Food security article

Please see the Food security article for a section already discussing the food justice movement: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_security#Food_Justice_Movement. There is a large focus on the "just sustainability" movement, and how it is a response to the lack of diverse perspectives by people of color on the Food Justice movement. However, there is nothing in the article backing up this lack of perspectives, or any examples at all of activists and activist groups involved in the movement. Thus, I'm not sure if I believe if this is the case or not, and while I feel this is a valid point, and a lack of diverse perspectives is highly likely the case, again, there is nothing backing this up. However, regardless of the lack of scholarship and activism in the Food Justice Movement by people of color, a Wikipedia article is not the place to talk about this, and it adds a strong sense of bias. Rather, the article should generally talk about the Food Justice Movement, even if it is systematically and problematically exclusive. The "just sustainability" movement should have its own page, and even if it is mentioned in this article, it shouldn't be such a substantial focus. A number of organizations have either championed the Food Justice Cause or greatly impacted the Food Justice space. An example of a prominent organization within the food justice movement has been the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, which is a worker-based human rights organization that has been recognized globally for its accomplishments in the areas of human trafficking, social responsibility and gender-based violence at work. The Coalition of Immoaklee Workers most prominent accomplishment related to the food justice space has been its part in implementing the Fair Food Program, which increased the pay and bettered working conditions of farm workers in the tomato industry who had been exploited for generations. This accomplishment provided over 30,000 workers more income and the ability to access better and more healthy foods for themselves and their families. Another organization in the food justice space is the Fair Food Network, an organization that has embraced the mission of helping families who need healthy food gain access to it while also increasing the livelihood for farmers in America and growing local economies. Started by Oran B. Hesterma, the Fair Food Network has invested over $200 million in various projects and initiatives, such as the Double Up Food Bucks program, to help low-income and minority communities access healthier food.
