Timing question

[edit]

This article says: "Focus became an independent publication in 1980 when the DOB cut their financial ties with the magazine."

The Daughters of Bilitis article says the DOB went out of existence in 1970, so it could not have continued to support Focus financially during the 1970s. Something doesn't fit here. Can anyone clarify (and add the clarification to this article and/or the DOB article as needed)? Thanks. --Tkynerd (talk) 16:05, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

From my understanding (and as is mentioned in the DOB article), although the DOB disbanded as a national organisation in 1970, some of the local DOB chapters, including the Boston chapter that ran Focus, continued to operate. I'm not sure exactly when the Boston chapter disbanded but looking at the DOB article, it looks like it may have been as late as the 1990s. 97198 (talk) 12:16, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. This [1] makes it clear that the Boston chapter continued to operate for quite a while, apparently at least until 1994. I'm going to go ahead and make a small change in this article to clarify the situation. --Tkynerd (talk) 21:50, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
