Before removing the photo again, please state your reasons for doing so. I think it is a good example of how marketing (expecially using flyers) can get out of hand. -Ld | talk 14:48, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Title of this article
--Kpwa gok 23:35, 16 January 2006 (UTC)I think we should create another page for "flier" and move this page to there. This is in conjunction with AP Style and other journalism resources. DDD
--The link to the SF ordinanace regarding flyering is no longer valid. Perhaps there should be some discussion about fines people receive in cities that do not allow flyering?
Maximum size and usual medium wrong
The note about maximum flyer sizes given in the article is false. Here (Toronto, Canada, and iirc also Kitchener-Waterloo) flyers are often US Letter sized (8.5" x 11"), especially if they are DIY/in-house. Uh, supermarket flyers are usually much bigger than that too…
Also, flyers here are usually not printed on cardstock, but on newsprint, ordinary office paper, or glossy paper.
A5-max, printed-on-cardstock may be true in Europe, but very false in Canada.—Gniw (Wing) 06:29, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Craigslist?
Is this even really relevant? Sure there may be some paralells between electronic ads and traditional print ads but this article is about fliers themselves. I suggest this aside be removed. ```` —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ngaskill (talk • contribs) 08:53, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
I agree. I'm going to go ahead and remove this. It is irrelevant and seems to be a plug for Craigslist which is merely an example of a website used for advertising. Both online classifieds (such as Craigslist) and flyering are examples of advertising. Therefore, being mutually exclusive, there is no need for mention of other on either article. The plug on this article is like mentioning one specific advertising a printing press company on an article dealing with online classifieds. --Matt0401 (talk) 03:09, 2 June 2009 (UTC) THE Great Flyer Day —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.196.132.251 (talk) 00:44, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

anti tax stamp MUGS?!
Umm, no, I'm not going to believe that in the 1700s they mass produced mugs to hand out against the stamp act. Perhaps a few were made with a slogan or two, or perhaps some hand crafted mugs, steins, whatever were sold to raise funds or given to prominent persons, but they sure as heck weren't screen printing coffee mugs and handing them out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.145.251.34 (talk) 15:49, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
A4 format
The A4 format derrives from the A0 (Azero) format, wich is exactly 1 square meters large. If folding an A0-format paper on the middle ("on length") this forms an A1 size paper (with size of 0.5 sqaure meters). Folding an A1 paper then gives the A2 format and so on. An A4 paper is therefore an A0 paper folded four times with an exact size of 1/8 of a square meter. (Not roughlly). The larger papers as A0 and A1 are used for engeneering drawings mainly. 83.249.37.184 (talk) 14:03, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Comslip
"There are many different flyer formats. Some examples are: [...] DL (compslip size) [...]". I know what a DL envelope size is, but what does "comslip" mean? --Thrissel (talk) 12:09, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- A compliments slip. Beyond My Ken (talk) 14:01, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
