[edit]Someone clean up this page and upload the picture bump —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.231.157.169 (talk • contribs)
I have no idea how to fix the picture, but I cleaned up the page and added a lot more info. -- Happydog
Joe became 60 years old. Please support him from now on!

Added a few updates, including links to Hideki Ishima's site and links to Joe Yamanaka videos; killed one dead link; changed a few other things here and there and de-editorialized some of my comments.Happydog 07:59, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
I added information from the newly-launched official Flower Travellin' Band website; specifically, news of their long-awaited reunion and a tour date for July's concert at the Fuji Rock Festival. I also added a link to their newly-created official myspace page (This page is also linked to from their official website). Shortly after I added this information, somebody came along and purged it. So then I had to go and re-add it. Everybody, please keep an eye out in case this person purges this official information again. - Nero Kalem
Progressive Rock?
[edit]This should not be listed in their genres, Flower Travellin' Band have little to no qualities of Progressive Rock in their music. User:Zifirl (Zifirl) 11:32, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Disagree - particularly Make Up and Made In Japan exhibit similarities to the prog rock of the time - weird time signatures, prominent unusual use of keyboards, concept songs. Luminifer (talk) 14:56, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
I have found a reference for hard rock from allmusic, which I will be adding to the info box. If you disagree with this addition please find a reliable source that opposes this or state why you think it should be removed for further discussion. LINKSPAM Cleanup
[edit]Eventually, someone is going to find all the links on this page that are in violation of wikipedia policy and delete them... Only official sites are supposed to be there. However - I suggest anyone who has the time pull those links in to be actual refs to content on the page - that way, they can stay. Luminifer (talk) 14:58, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Jun ?
[edit]I always new him as Jun Kozuki. I assume that is how he is credited on all their albums from the 70s, but on their official website he uses Jun Kobayashi. So which one should be used in this article? Xfansd (talk) 02:01, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Still active?
[edit]I had to say it, but it doesn't seem like these guys are going to continue without Joe. So I think we can consider them disbanded and should put "2007–2010" in the years active field. Xfansd (talk) 21:46, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Separate article for The Flowers?
[edit]This article treats The Flowers and FTB as one entity, but it seems maybe more accurate to treat them as related but separate, given their different names, styles, lineups, etc. I propose that we give The Flowers a separate article (they should pass notability on their own) and treat them separately. Thoughts? CCS81 (talk) 22:03, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- The Flowers wouldn't pass notability; even though FTB is an important band in the history of music, there's only like four or five quality sources on this page which is about both groups and all of them are about FTB. It wouldn't even be worth it, the Flowers released one album and briefly played in the background of two obscure films. I don't see a reason to split unless their part of this article gets substantially better. Here's the link to The Flowers' Jap wiki in case anyone can use it to improve this one ja:内田裕也とザ・フラワーズ Xfansd (talk) 00:06, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, well I take your point. I haven't done enough research to determine The Flowers' notability, but given the importance of FTB and Uchida, I assumed they would be significant enough (e.g., covered by enough RS) to support an article. I'm also motivated by the concern that, as the current FTB article reads, it seems as though FTB released an album, revamped its lineup, and then released three more, when really it grew out of a previous (in many ways discrete) band that released one album before releasing four more. This seems a bit misleading to me. But I won't push the point and appreciate your thoughts. If I have some time in the coming months I hope to do some more work to improve this article.
