- Actually, there also was a "Preco Air-Clip Hair Removal System" by Preco Incorporated, a Los Angeles-based company, which existed between 1949 and 1992. It was based on the same idea, trademarked, patented and manufactured in 1964. The Air-Clip trademark expired in 1984, the Preco trademark in 1992.
