The page says "On Peters World Map the easternmost part of Asia and Russia is not displayed left of Alaska, as it is usually done, but on the right side as the rest of Russia and Asia."
This is of course not true, throughout the history of map making, which emerged from the "old continent", Europe has been in the middle. Nowadays, Asian maps tend to be Asia-centric and US maps are US-centric. US citizens may therefore think that desplaying Asia left of Alaska is "usual" but it isn't usual at all, at most convenient.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.78.35.195 (talk) 05:53, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
