Is this a synonym for flood plain, and would it be better if the they were merged? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Watertide (talk • contribs) 21:05, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- I know this is a very late reply but; no a flood meadow and flood plain aren't the same. A flood plain is the entire area around a river which is likely to flood, it can be any type of terrain (grassland, forest, town, sand dunes etc.) A flood meadow is specifically grassland and floods seasonally, whereas most of a flood plain might only flood every few years, or once a decade or so. 2A00:23C6:1AC1:BF01:7983:730E:C53D:FE7A (talk) 17:46, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
