Name

[edit]

Should the proper spelling of the name not be Flavius Clemens.? --Proofreader (talk) 13:46, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The correct name is Titus Flavius Clemens (consul) and as you can see we do already have a good article about him. I think, the best think to do would be to delete this article here and to include any information into the other article that is not yet in there. But also beware as to whether the information is accurate: Actually, Flavius Clemens never seemed to be a Christian at all (cf. [1]) and his Christian believe was only attributed to him long after his death. --Proofreader (talk) 14:26, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge, redirect, or delete ?

[edit]

I tagged this for a merge only to get some eyes on it -ten years after it was first brought up. Flavius Clemens was not the brother of Roman emperor Vespasian; Titus Flavius Sabinus (consul AD 47) was. It was Titus Flavius Clemens (consul) who served as consul with Domitian, and who married Flavia Domitilla. Flavius Clemens appears to the subject of a traditional, very confused, pious story later attributed to Titus Flavius Clemens. Perhaps a merge of some sort could clarify this hagiographic tradition in more detail than presently exists on the target page. Mannanan51 (talk) 05:33, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
