I have added links to this album to show it exists. (unsigned)

Existing is not the same as being notable. --Chuunen Baka (talk) 15:22, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If the original artist is notable, then wouldn't his/her recordings be notable?CDTi (talk) 16:12, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No. Read WP:NSONGS. 24.4.101.72 (talk) 16:19, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
From [WP:NSONGS]]: "In general, if the musician or ensemble that recorded an album is considered notable, then officially released albums may have sufficient notability to have individual articles on Wikipedia"CDTi (talk) 16:29, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
May have being the operative phrase here. It also states that the album must satisfy the general notability guidelines, which this one fails miserably. 24.4.101.72 (talk) 16:32, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"which this one fails miserably" Why? I refer you to Christy Moore's album: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paddy_On_The_Road. No supporting references that it ever existed or is notable other than a link to Christy's own website.CDTi (talk) 16:37, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS is not a valid reason for inclusion. Musical entries are notoriously bad for this becuase some editors can't deal with the fact that their favorite band/album/song/whatever aren't that notable in the grand scheme of Wikipedia. 24.4.101.72 (talk) 16:44, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited and improved this page to show its importance in the overall Johnny Duhan collection and its necessity to gain an overall understanding of the artist. CDTi (talk) 19:31, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion rationale

[edit]

This is an epic fail of general and album notability criteria. The only "references" are to sales sites and/or the artist site. The tone of the article is inappropriate for an encyclopedia and appear to reflect the article author's opinions more than anything else. 24.4.101.72 (talk) 00:17, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The song interpretations are from Johnny Duhans lyrical autobiography, To The Light ISBN 9780955510618. They are not my own as I don't really feel qualified enough to interpret any artists work. Unfortunately I cannot link to an online version of this book as there is none, like the vast majority of books. The album is important because the songs on it form the core of the final quarter of "To The Light".CDTi (talk) 08:59, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
But you can still list it as an offline source. I've added it to the article. --Bruce1eetalk 09:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Bruce. I have also added a reference to the album at http://allmusic.com/CDTi (talk) 09:12, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
