Unofficial flags
[edit]Hi, this article lists many unofficial flags with no sources of their use, some seem to be council banners (inspired by their Coat of Arms) which I do not think count as "flags" for settlements within the council's area. There are also duplicate flags, one recognised flag by the Flag Institute and one unrecognised? (They're both the flag?) If any flag is fictional is should be removed, if its a council banner it should ideally be cited and stated as such. My home town is represented here with a flag never flown here, and many other constantly have children's contests to design a city/town flag (such as Milton Keynes) so clearly some of these aren't used (at least outside the council). Many of these flags have been marked as "unofficial" in their commons descriptions. Many Thanks – DankJae (talk) 00:42, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
- I have since removed most of the uncited flags, please insert them back if they have a source for their recognition. – DankJae (talk) 11:59, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
- Seems my edit has been reverted, I continue to dispute that many of these "flags" should not be included as they are banners of arms (should be described as such). Sources only verify the coat of arms design, but not of the flags. – DankJae (talk) 16:57, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
