Shade of blue (1951 to 2003)

[edit]

There is limited archival color photographs from 1951 to 1965 showing the actual shade of blue used in the presidential flags. Available archival color photographs are mostly from Ferdinand Marcos Sr.'s first term and onward with his successors; and it shows a lighter shade of blue rather than the dark blue specified in the original Roxas executive order (E.O. 38, 1947). -- iamdumdum (talk) 08:00, August 2, 2022 (UTC)

Ring of stars (1951 to 2003)

[edit]

Although the Quirino executive order (E.O. 457, 1951) specified the ring of stars to be in gold, actual use was white. I believe this fact should be included in the article. -- iamdumdum (talk) 08:20, August 2, 2022 (UTC)

"1981" presidential flag

[edit]

Based on archival film and photographs, the Marcos "1981" presidential flag -- inverted triangle; short-beaked bird (dove?) with outstretched wings clutching different unspecified branches (not olive branch and arrows as the US presidential flag) on each talon -- first appeared in use in 1980, not 1981. Unfortuntately, there is a dearth of documentary support for this version of the presidential flag. No executive order was issued for this change. -- iamdumdum (talk) 08:00, August 2, 2022 (UTC)
