[edit]The picture doesn't show the flag for south soudan (we can not see it here in Juba (I am expatriate)). The star should be straight. The one showed here is from a political party http://www.crwflags.com/FOTW/FLAGS/sd%7D.html
Real one is here http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/Flags/sd-s.html -- 09:02, 6 November 2009 196.201.151.69
I'm not sure if that shade of blue is right. The picture from the AU website today shows a lighter shade of blue. Even more confusingly, the GOSS website shows what seems to be a light blue version in the center column (different picture from the AU site), but a dark blue version in the upper right hand corner here. - It's also hard to tell from official sources if the star is tilted or not. Brianski (talk) 01:57, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- Even right now the flag color is still in confusion. People can't figure out the right blue color either shade lighter or dark blue. THEus Diingdh (talk) 16:22, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
I am still unsure if the orientation of the star on the flag is correct, there various flags seen in press photos on Facebook but the star isn't even consistent there - some are pointing upwards, some downwards and some in other directions, but this could be due to how some of the smaller handheld flags were manufactured, see: here, here, here, here, here, here, here.

Blue and yellow colors
[edit]Probably a reference in some way to the pre-1970 flag of Sudan... AnonMoos (talk) 23:46, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
Colors?
[edit]why is Wikipedia having a consensus South Sudan is using the lighter blue flag and a non-tilted star? why the goverment hasn't reannounced new colors yet? CD967119 (talk) 19:25, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- they literally did, i recommend you check the governments facebook page where every physical instance is a lighter color NorthTension (talk) 12:51, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
