Inaccuracies in the infobox
[edit]For some reason Iowa, like all other US state flag pages, has overall proportions listed for the state flag despite most US state flags not having specified proportions. Nothing in Iowa code specifies the overall proportions of the flag. Is there a reason the proportions listed as 2:3 despite numerous examples of flags that fall outside of these proportions?
It's also mentioned via those Whitney Smith symbols that the reverse of the flag is a mirror image of its obverse. While that may be the most common depiction of the flag in modern dyed-through designs, this is again not specified in state code, and there are several real examples to the contrary.
tl;dr: The claims that the overall proportions of the flag are 2:3, as well as that the obverse and reverse of the flag are mirror images are inaccurate and should be removed. Lumpen124 (talk) 15:42, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
Cigarette promotional silk depicting false flag
[edit]Why is the cigarette silk flag even mentioned? Cigarette silks are notorious for inventing flags due to ignorance or simply wanting to depict areas that lack flags. There are more examples of "Iowan flags" depicted on these silks that don't get mentioned. Even if you state clearly that the flag was fictitious in the footer, I believe the inclusion is harmful; A: because people image searching "Iowa flag" will have this image pop up with no mention of it being invented, and B: it breaks the flow of the article with unnecessary information. - I've decided to remove it. Lumpen124 (talk) 16:05, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
