Deletion
[edit]Keep - The article was tagged in a matter of seconds after it's creation. I am still editing the article. Also, not enough infomation is not a reason for an article to be deleated as long as the context of the article can be established. Oddbodz (talk) 10:57, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- I wonder if this should be moved to Five sailing essentials or something. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 21:04, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- There are no other well known things apart from this that would need to be known as Five essentials. If people are getting confused then i think it would be best to set Five sailing essentials as a redirect. I will do this now. Oddbodz (talk) 16:27, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- That doesn't really solve the problem, though, which is that nobody is going to know what "five essentials" is about by reading the title. Also the sources don't even seem to support this ambiguous form. ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 17:41, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

- Sounds to me like the article should be called Five Essentials (Sailing), and beyond that the article needs a bit of work, I've heard the term 5 essentials at some point in the dim distant past refering to sailing, but if someone were to say 'hello and welcome to the lecture theatre, today were going to talk about the 5 essentials' - I would be thinking of food, water, air, procreation, and whatever thing the person was trying to sell me ;) EdwardLane (talk) 07:06, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Delete -I just looked over my instructor manual from US Sailing and they say nothing of the five essentials. while it is true that these are generally important for sailing, they are no where near universal. Chalexthegreat (talk) 01:31, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
- I think we should link these topics together everywhere then. D1gggg (talk) 16:05, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- support deletion if "sense of balance" is not used for articles and templates about bicycles D1gggg (talk) 20:05, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
