Talk:Five Articles of Remonstrance

[edit]

I removed large portions of WP:COPYVIO text copied from other sources without any analysis from secondary sources. Wikipedia is a tertiary source, not a means of hosting primary sources. Per WP:LONGQUOTE, the quoted material should be a reasonable size to complement rather than replace encyclopedic content. The counter-remonstrance content is found in God's Twofold Love. The cited source Crisis in the reformed churches is not in English and that makes verification difficult for non-German speakers. I would caution other editors to develop an article about the Five Articles of Remonstrance, not simply paste in the articles themselves or steal content from other writers. This article should not quote full text primary sources

[edit]

This article is about the "Five Articles of Remonstrance". It is not intended of displaying it (see : WP:LONGQUOTE), which is the purpose of wikisource for instance, not wikipedia. Actually this article should rather provide a comment about the "Five articles", those comments should be supported (tipically in notes) by primary sources (the articles themselves) and secondary sources. This is far more true, concerning the Counter Remonstrance of 1611 text cited in the body of this article. This is completely off topic in an article about the Remonstrance. Only the source of the counter-remontrance text is to be given here.

If there is no objection, I will proceed to the correction of this article. ---Telikalive (talk) 12:34, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
