Hmm

[edit]

The article could do with some details of how the plans are evaluated, and how they have fared. Particularly I would be interested if "All villages to have sustained access to potable drinking water within the Plan period;" this target was reached. - Francis Tyers · 18:29, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

The article require serious cleanup in the descriptions of first six Five-Year plans. Alokagrawal8 (talk) 19:02, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Look out for possible copyright violations in this article

[edit]

This article has been found to be edited by students of the Wikipedia:India Education Program project as part of their (still ongoing) course-work. Unfortunately, many of the edits in this program so far have been identified as plain copy-jobs from books and online resources and therefore had to be reverted. See the India Education Program talk page for details. In order to maintain the WP standards and policies, let's all have a careful eye on this and other related articles to ensure that no material violating copyrights remains in here. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 12:36, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"The third Five-year Plan stressed agriculture and improvement in the production of wheat, but the brief Sino-Indian War of 1962 exposed weaknesses in the economy"

[edit]

this lacks a citation, and uses a subjective term, "weakness" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.248.164.27 (talk) 15:31, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization

[edit]

Are there any thoughts about the use of the lower case "p" in plans? A title search for "five year plans" shows that the great majority of articles capitalize each word in the form Five-Year Plans of India. China is the exception with Five-year plans of the People's Republic of China which has the "y" in year also lower case. I think a case could be made for either style, but since "Five-Year Plans" is by far the most common, would there be any objection to changing the title of this article to "Five-Year Plans of India"? Thanks, SchreiberBike talk 22:02, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done, taken care of. SchreiberBike talk 04:37, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Someone's edited the years of the plans. I don't know my way around Wiki editing, but if that user could be blocked from making any more changes, that would be nice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.133.246.35 (talk) 20:00, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for helping, 112.133.246.35. I’ve taken the liberty of moving your comment to a new section. I restored an earlier version of the article as there was some other vandalism still there. Unfortunately that caused your and Ranjit's edits to be tagged as "reverted", sorry. Pelagicmessages ) – (23:40 Wed 17, AEDT) 12:40, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
