names of church, as Congregational
[edit]An edit at List of Congregational churches in the United States suggests the name of this church was once Berea Congregational Church, while the article currently says it was "First Congregational Church". What is correct? And sourced? I'm just interested in improving the information and making it consistent in the various Wikipedia pages. Thanks! --doncram 15:22, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- The article clearly states that this building was built by Berea Congregational Church. The first paragraph gives a short history of Congregationalism in Davenport with First Church (Edwards) as the original congregation. It has never stated that this building was ever First Congregational Church. The source is clearly Svendsen and Bowers. All the articles on Davenport's historic churches give at least some denominational history in the city. This church is no different. Having said that, I do not know of any written history of the Bible Missionary Church in Davenport. Farragutful (talk) 13:12, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
