Perhaps an paragraph about the "I am the king of Hell fire, and I bring you [...]" sample would be nice to include? At least the UK band 'Prodigy' uses this sample in their song 'Fire' and hence that song could be included in the 'Cover Versions' section?
- Fair enough re. the Prodigy sample - done. Cheers, Ian Rose 11:15, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Psychedelic ?
[edit]I don't think so. There's nothing psychedelic about this song at all, it's straight-up rock. Unless someone can come up with a reason for calling it that, I'll remove. (And it was never "pyschedelic rock" anyway, it's acid rock. Kids these days. Sheesh.) 210.22.142.82 (talk) 05:58, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- It's sourced info, so in my opinion it should stay. Please try and find reliable sources that describe it as straight-up rock first before making changes. Mark in wiki (talk) 08:24, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
New Zealand?
[edit]Would it be appropriate to mention in this article the controversy surrounding the fact that the New Zealand Mosque shooter played this song on the live-stream where he documented the horrific terrorist attack? I say this because Arthur Brown himself acknowledged what happened, and actually cut Fire from his upcoming live performance in New Zealand. Just a thought that I had, but I totally understand if anyone thinks different; I didn't want to edit the article without first discussing it with others. - IMO, looking at sources should answer the question.
- Independent reliable sources about the shooting will clearly mention things about the shooting that aren't relevant elsewhere but might make sense in our article about the shooting.
- Brief, current articles about the song being omitted (etc.) would generally fall under WP:NOTNEWS.
- Sources about the song -- especially those coming out some time after the shooting has left the news cycle -- that discuss the use/impact would be what I would look for. Clarifying: sources specifically about the song or Arthur Brown, discussing (not merely mentioning) the shooting, separated by a bit of time.
- That's my opinion. Someone else's might be better. - SummerPhDv2.0 15:58, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
"Baby, You're a Long Way Behind"
[edit]Does anyone know where to access a recording of this song? Discogs and Allmusic and Youtube don't seem to have any information at all about this song. 2001:56A:FA85:3800:B166:B61B:F7BD:AB96 (talk) 03:42, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
- Anyone? Anywhere? There is a song from 1967 called "Baby You Know What You're Doing". AMCKen (talk) 19:34, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
